Kitsune Linocut on Black Earth Lokta

My Nine Tailed Fox Lino cut relief print has been made using rich, silver oil based relief ink, on Black Earth Lokta Paper.

This paper is handmade and then dyed using black Earth which is layered on top of the fibres. For this reason, this paper is sandy and the pigment is loose to the touch, so it must be handled with care. The contrast between the silver ink and the matte clay is beautiful.

This design on this paper is an edition of 3- each piece is slightly different and individual as they have been finished by hand and flecks of the Earth have changed the print in different parts.

This design is inspired by the Japanese folklore stories of the intelligent nine tailed foxes, and also by my favourite Pokemon.Each print is initialed and numbered by me. Printed size of the design fits within A3 parameters and therefore it can be framed within an A3 mount, although the paper is larger. * This print is individually hand printed, it may contain some unique imperfections, as is the nature of hand printing.
